Amptech Inc. was started in 1980 by a woman in her house as a prototype shop. The first customers were in the medical field with a concentration on x-ray machines. The business expanded in 1986 into a renovated school house. New customers were added over the years to include fuel service and industrial sensors. By 1992, with 15 employees, Amptech moved to a new facility and its current location. With the new facility automation and high speed placement equipment was added, allowing Amptech to compete in the automotive and consumer products markets. Facility expansions again occurred in 1994 and 1996 to service the appliance industries. In 2001 Amptech acquired an assembly operation in Beaver Falls PA to service regional industrial accounts. Amptech employs approximately 160 people. |
